Seven-year NFL veteran and Super Bowl champion Sidney Rice of the Seattle Seahawks is set to retire from football.

Rice's career the past few seasons has been plagued with concussions and ACL injuries. Being off the field during much of his stint in Seattle also could have contributed to his decision.

Rice took less pay this upcoming season to stay with the defending champions. The Minnesota Vikings drafted Rice in the second round of the 2007 draft out of South Carolina before he eventually landed with the Seahawks.
