Today we are mourning the loss of Gospel music pioneer Andrae Crouch. He was 72.

The singer, songwriter and choir director had been hospitalized since Jan. 3 in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a heart attack. Sometimes considered "the father of gospel music," he led many choirs and even sang on Michael Jackson's Man in the Mirror and Madonna's Like a Prayer.

He is responsible for giving us great gospel hits like 'The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power,' 'My Tribute (To God Be The Glory)' and 'Soon and Very Soon,' which he sung at Michael Jackson's public memorial service.
