Pitbull has achieved massive amounts of success with his mix of EDM, hip-hop and dance. His commercial style has drawn the ire of some music critics and hip-hop fanatics, but it's going to be harder to hate on him since he's planning to give back to the community.

On Friday (Aug. 16), the rapper will open SLAM, the Sports Leadership and Management school, in his hometown of Little Havana -- a Cuban community in Miami. The school will be run by a non-profit organization and will focus on prepping kids for careers in the sports field.

The 32-year-old artist told Washington Post about his strong belief in education. “There is no way you can tackle any obstacle or any issue around the world if you’re not educated," he said. “My mother always told me two of the most dangerous diseases in the world are ignorance and greed. That’s why we have to educate. That’s why I fight for it and that’s why I feel it’s the real revolution."

He emphasized the need to make learning fun for kids again. Apparently, that includes making learning sexy too: “What happens is that education is no longer sexy, it’s no longer cool."

Pit has multiple Billboard hits, but will he be able to make learning sexy? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
