Peggy, A Real Working Woman of ETx
About Peggy Smith-McAlister:
She is the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Rusk County in Henderson, Texas, a position she has held for eleven years.
She is a graduate of Henderson High School, and has a BS in Business Administration from Texas College. She is a scholarship recipient for the Global Institute of Leadership Development and the Stanford University Nonprofit Management Institute.
Peggy is deeply committed to and rooted in her community, as she serves as a board member for several local non-profit agencies including: Habitat for Humanity, Cultural Arts Social Club, Henderson Parks and Recreation Committee, the Community Development Corporation, and a former member of the Rotary Club of Henderson.
Peggy is a member of the Leadership Henderson Class of 2008 and the 2008 Rusk County Chamber of Commerce Louise Jacks Woman of the Year recipient. She also received the Rusk County 2013 Female Dr. Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award.
Peggy is married to Randy McAlister and has two adult sons, Kylon and Garrick. She is a member of Arlem Grove Baptist Church, where she serves as the church secretary and Assistant Youth Director .
