As if the New York Yankees haven't had a very interesting 2013 season with all things A-Rod and other injuries.

Derek Jeter who has been battling a surgically repaired left ankle, is out for the rest of the 2013 season, according to Yankees GM Brian Cashman. The Yankees are currently 10 games behind their nemesis the Boston Red Sox in the American League East and two games out of the wild card race with 17 games left.

Jeter has been less than productive, batting .190 with one home run and seven RBIs. Jeter, who has been with the Yankees since 1995, has one year left on his contract. I sure the Pinstripes will resign him.
