Movies In The Park Returns This Fall In Tyler

Tyler Parks and Recreation is bring back their 'Movies In The Park' series for the ninth year in a row! The series has featured some great family entertaining movies throughout the years at Tyler's Bergfeld Park.

This years series will kick off with Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and conclude with The 12 Dogs of Christmas. Debbie Isham of Tyler Parks and Recreation and the city are proud to offer this budget-wise, family friendly event to the citizens of Tyler and to get out and enjoy Tyler's fall evenings at Bergfeld Park. According to Debbie,

The city must pay a licensing fee for the rights to show each movie. That’s why donations and sponsorships are so important. We started showing movies in the park in the fall of 2004 and we have shown 67 movies so far.”

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and the city raises money to cover the funds necessary to buy the rights through a wide variety of events and sales and from business sponsorships. Without that support this movie series would not exist.

September 21st @ 8p - Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
September 28th @ 8p - Escape From Planet Earth
October 12th @ 7:30p - Radio
December 14th @ 6p - The 12 Dogs Of Christmas

All movies are free and you're encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner to catch the show with soft drinks being provided.
