Missy Elliott opened the 2017 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors with a bang.

The hip-hop legend performed her 1999 hit single “She’s a Bitch," visually recreating the iconic music video, which was directed by Hype Williams. This year's show is a tribute to "The 90s Game Changers" and Williams is one of the night's honorees for his innovative visuals.

Hosted by Girls Trip star Regina Hall, Hip-Hop Honors celebrates a cross section of pioneers from hip-hop culture.

This year's show also celebrates Martin Lawrence, Jermaine Dupri, Master P and Mariah Carey. Missy was among the honorees for last year's show, All Hail the Queens, a dedication to groundbreaking women in the rap game.
