What a Christmas present! The Mineola Yellowjackets won their first ever state championship in high school football during the state championship game against Yoakum!

This was Mineola's second appearance within the last three years playing for the state championship in Class 3A Division I. The Yellowjackets entered the championship game with the record of 13 and 2, they were only one win away from clenching their first ever titlefor their school! The Yellowjackets scored on their opening drive and never looked back! With the final score of 35 to 14, they did it - won state!

The Carthage Bulldogs play for their fifth state championship title in the Class 4A Division I championship game against Abilene Wylie Bulldogs Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. at AT&T Stadium in Arlington too. Good luck to Carthage in this all important game!
