It looks like Miguel and John Legend will be collaborating this year, but it won't be in the recording studio. The two will join forces on a film set as the "Adorn" singer has been selected to star in a film that John is producing.

The "All of Me" singer's Lifted Film Co. is partnering with Furst Films and IM Global to produce "an untitled musical romantic drama," Variety reports.

MTV reports that the "Hollywood Dreams" artist is "in talks to star as a former one-hit wonder who regains his love for music when he is hired to coach an aspiring singer for her audition on a singing competition show.”

Production will begin in September in Philadelphia. Nabil Elderkin, who is known for directing videos for John, FKA twigs, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, will be making his feature film directorial debut. The script was written by Taylor Cohen.

And although John will be busy producing the film with Get Lifted partner Mike Jackson and Sean and Bryan Furst of Furst Films, he will naturally be in charge of curating the music for the film as well. And after his Oscar and Golden Globe wins with Common for "Glory" from the 2014 period film, Selma, John seems like a great fit for the job. While there's no confirmation on whether the two singers will be contributing original music to the movie soundtrack, we're sure there will be even more collaboration on that end.

In the meantime, Miguel surprised fans with a three-track EP in December and is in the middle of working on a new album. John has recently been nominated for six 2015 Billboard Music Awards. We'll find out if he walks away a winner on May 17.
