A very upset California resident named Kenneth Wright is claiming that the United States Department of Education raided his home early in the morning over unpaid student loans! Wright claims authorities drug him out in his underwear and asked him questions about he and his ex wife’s unpaid college loans.

Turns out, the authorities were investigating Wright’s ex wife for alleged fraud. Wright said:

“They put me in handcuffs in that hot patrol car for six hours, traumatizing my kids."

Justin Hamilton with the U.S. Department of Education said the agents that served the search warrant were with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), not local S.W.A.T. agents. He stated:

"The federal search warrant is sealed by the courts, but the copy given to Wright said the Department of Education and its Office of the Inspector General are investigating the Wrights for financial aid fraud. The search allowed for the seizure of any student financial aid documents, W2 forms and electronic communications."
