The University of Texas agreed to pay out former head coach Mack Brown's contract with a check for $2.7 million.

The deal covers the contract he originally signed plus it gave him a one-year job as an assistant to the president of athletics at UT.

Brown stepped down as the Longhorns coach in December after much speculation that he would be fired after the season due to dismal performances over the past few years.

Brown coached Texas to the 2006 national championship. I guess at least for now, Mack is back!!!
