LL Cool J’s Son Arrested Following Altercation at New York Restaurant

LL Cool J isn't usually in the news when it comes to legal trouble but the same can't be said for his son, Najee Smith, who had a run-in with the police Tuesday (Sept. 29).

According to New York Daily News, the 26-year-old was arrested following an altercation at a New York restaurant. Police say Najee, who was allegedly drunk, got into an argument with a worker at Catch, a ritzy eatery in the Meatpacking District, and was asked to leave. When Najee refused, he was escorted out by restaurant security and a fight ensued. He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal trespassing. No one was injured during the altercation.

Najee, pictured in the 2006 photo above, was released following his arraignment in court Tuesday afternoon and refused to speak to reporters waiting outside. However, his friends, who were shielding him, allegedly spat on a NYDN photographer.

He is the eldest son of LL's four children with wife Simone Smith. Reps for LL Cool J had no comment on the matter.
