LeBron James and Maverick Carter's next television venture will be a sitcom centered around a sneaker store in Los Angeles.  The basketball superstar and his longtime business partner are developing the show for HBO through their production company SpringHill Entertainment.

Although the show is still untitled, its described as a half-hour comedy about two best friends who open a sneaker store where they and their wild employees take on the insane and obsessive world of sneaker culture.  It hails from Warner Bros. TV and stems from SpringHill’s multi-year movie, TV and digital deal with Warner Bros.

LeBron, who has had his own signature line of Nike shoes since breaking into the NBA, has always been a sneaker lover and frequently posts photos of his kicks on social media. With Carter negotiating, James landed a deal for a lifetime partnership with Nike at the end of 2015. The duo also invested in a Miami sneaker store when James played for the Heat and Carter serves on the advisory board of the KITH brand.

SpringHill Entertainment currently has two shows on the air: the comedy Survivor's Remorse, now heading into its fourth season on STARZ, as well as the game show The Wall on NBC.  The Untitled Sneaker Store Project will be written by Shawn Wines, from HBO's High Maintenance, and Lemon Anderson, from the film She's Gotta Have It.

There is no set date on when the show will premiere.
