Kilgore’s Downtown Merchants Plan Sidewalk Sale For Saturday

I know how much ladies love a sale (and some of you guys too) and there’s a big one coming up Saturday in downtown Kilgore.  Retail merchants will be turning back the clock for their annual Retro Retail Sidewalk Sale.

The sale has been reformatted this year from previous years which was an evening social event, the Retro Retail Sidewalk Sale will begin at 9a this year and merchants along Kilgore St. and Main will be opening their doors and setting up sale items on the sidewalk for you to shop your heart away.  Harry Crouse, owner of 2-0-5 says to to,

Expect discounts. {And} we want to do kind of a nostalgic theme.”

In addition to the sidewalk sale which will feature vintage values and price tags, classic cars will be parked on the streets with popcorn, lemonade and cotton candy stands along the sidewalks.  Kids can get free balloons and dance the morning and afternoon away as disco music will fill downtown Kilgore.

Kilgore Main Street Manager, Clara Chaffin, expects more than 20 merchants to participate in the downtown area in addition to downtown restaurants offering their home-cooked food to shoppers.

The Retro Retail Sidewalk Sale will conclude at 5p.

There will also be a 5K run and 1-mile walk to help kick off the day at 8a with registration open from 7a – 7:45a in downtown.
