Khalid’s ‘Location’ Certified Platinum: ‘Dreams Are Becoming a Reality’

This has been a big year for 19 year-old singer Khalid, and it's only getting better. His hit single, "Location," from his debut album, American Teen, has just been certified platinum.

The mid-tempo, incredibly catchy song, which cemented the Texas native as a rising talent to watch, topped the Urban Radio charts, hit the top three at Rhythmic Radio and landed in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Khalid was naturally excited about his most recent accomplishment, expressing his enthusiasm in an Instagram post.

"My first platinum single, man I can't even process this right now. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, love you guys. Dreams are becoming reality," he wrote.

Khalid is also headed out on the American Teen Tour this summer. While the first leg of the tour sold out, he recently announced that more dates have been added. The tour will kick off on July 12 in Portland.

But the young singer is busy beyond music. Forever 21 recently announced a new global campaign with the singer, and he’ll serve as the face for the #F21XMUSIC summer push, as well as the retailer’s men’s line.
