It’s certainly not a cruel summer for Kanye West fans. Following the release of West’s highly anticipated G.O.O.D. Music ‘Cruel Summer’ compilation, Ye is slated to release his sixth solo record.

No I.D. confirmed to MTV News that West is working on his own new LP. “I’m working on his album,” No I.D. said. When asked what to expect from ‘Cruel Summer,’ dropping Aug. 7, the producer simply told press, “It’s what you expect and everything you don’t expect.” Based on what we saw at the 2012 BET Awards, we’re expecting a lot!

West has worked with No I.D. previously, including when he was featured on Jay-Z‘s anthem ‘Run This Town’ (a No. I.D. production). No expected release date has been set, which isn’t too surprising: West has been busy on the road with Hov for their Watch the Throne tour — as well as cavorting around the globe with reality starlet and current squeeze and muse, Kim Kardashian.

What does No I.D. know about the project so far, then? He won’t reveal much, be he assured, “This is Kanye. You know what to expect from the family. He hasn’t missed yet, so don’t expect him to miss.” Point taken!
