Angela Basset, Laz Alonzo, Meagan Good, and Paula Patton had lots to celebrate this weekend as their film "Jumping The Broom" blew away critics expectations at the box office!

The YBF reports:

Over the weekend, Jumping The Broom surpassed Sony's projections and made $16M at the box office, making it the third most popular film nationwide. And because the film was made for just $6.6M, the movie has already proved profitable.  Hopefully, that will lead to more movie houses investing in independent black films.

Congratulations to the cast and Sony!
