It's been two years since we've heard any new material from Jennifer Hudson. And on Monday (Feb. 18), the Grammy-winning singer returned to the studio to start recording her third album.

J-Hud went on Instagram to give fans updates during her time in the lab. In the photos, she reveals who she's working with in the studio and it's none other than veteran producer Salaam Remi.

This is a real good sign because Remi has produced chart-topping hits for a plethora of artists including, Nas, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, B.o.B. and Miguel. So Hudson is off to a great start.

"Ok! Here we go guys! First day of recording my album!! [Salaam Remi] is everything!!" she wrote. We couldn't agree more.

In other Hudson news, the singer has been tapped to perform at this Sunday's Oscar telecast on ABC. Hudson will participate in a medley of movie musicals of the last decade. Among the films that are being honored include 'Chicago,' 'Dreamgirls' and 'Les Miserables.' We have no doubt that Hudson will be singing her rendition of the ballad, 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going' from 'Dreamgirls.'

"So excited to perform as part of the Oscars celebration to musicals of the last decade!" she tweeted.

So are we! Break a leg!
