The 43rd season of Saturday Night Live kicked off with a "Bam." JAY-Z was the guest on the first episode of the long-running show and performed his Damian Marley-assisted single, along with the title track off his latest album, 4:44.

Hov used to his air time to make a bit of a political statement. The Brooklyn rap mogul performed "Bam" with Marley and a lively hype man. He did so while rocking a special edition Colin Kaepernick jersey. The Nike jersey was black instead of the 49ers' conversational colors and read "Colin K" on the back.

For his encore, Jigga returned sans the jersey and gave the crowd a gripping performance of "4:44" (below).

Colin Kaepernick and his protests have been a hot topic, with the league basically turning him into a martyr for the cause by seemingly refusing to sign the quarterback. Even more so since President Trump made controversial comments last week about firing players who protest the National Anthem.

While not every rapper is riding with Kaep, plenty have showed support like Hov. J. Cole recently made a rare appearance on Twitter to talk about boycotting the NFL and possibly investigating the League about Kaepernick not having a job. “God bless every player that finds courage to kneel today. But the real power comes from you deciding to not watch,” he posted. “Your eyes translate to advertising money for the League and it’s owners…You and me have the power to deny them our attention ($$ to them) until they make a wrong situation right.”

Fight the power.
