Janet Jackson is receiving an early Mother’s Day present as the R&B legend will receive the Icon award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards and as an added bonus she will be performing live on television for the first time in 9 years.

From the LA Times, Janet Jackson who hasn’t released new music since her Unbreakable album in 2015 will be receiving the prestigious award and joins the likes of former winners Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Lopez, and Prince.

Jackson has been very busy as of late after giving birth to her son Eissa, launching the “State of The World Tour” last year and headlining the Essence Music Festival in July.

Janet is no stranger to being called an icon.  In 2010 she released Icon:  Number Ones as a best of compilation and BET presented her with an Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award at the BET Awards in 2015.

Check out Janet’s performance live from MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 20th, at 7 p.m. C.T
