The 2018 BET Awards is airing tonight (June 24th) and there are tons of celebrity fashion, performances and awards to anticipate. Not to mention, East Texas native Jamie Foxx is returning as the show’s host after nine years.

Rap-Up report, Jamie Foxx was excited to return back to his hosting duties as the night will celebrate black excellence.  Jamie was quoted saying the following

I’m not here to host, I’m here to celebrate. And the reason I wanted to get in on this is because I thought this was the greatest year for it. I called it black excellence televised. I mean, this is beyond what we are as black folks, this is like—anybody would want this moment to be recognized. We have a thing that we wanna stay on. We wanna stay on that we’re here to celebrate. It’s more of toast as opposed to roast.

The night will also include Anita Baker receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and they will also honor six humanitarians including James Shaw Jr. who disarmed the Waffle House shooter and much more.

The 2018 BET Awards airs tonight live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA at 7 p.m.
