Japan is cracking down on heavy waistlines, saying either slim down or get fined! No joke. The law is now that companies have annual check-ups and weigh ins. This new government-imposed weight loss standard is scary to many employees. Some of them have even retorted to crash dieting before the check-ups. Could the United States begin adapting lessons from Japan on the obesity epidemic issue? You bet! Many companies are already increasing incentives for wight loss including vacations, paid time off, and company prizes. Many larger companies even have scheduled times for employees to get exercise, and discourage unhealthy eating. Since American fast food companies have been in Japan, many have gained weight.
