Idris Elba Slings His Gun Around in ‘The Dark Tower’ Trailer, And It’s Awesome [WATCH]

Fans of Stephen King's popular Dark Tower series have reason to rejoice. After much hype, The Dark Tower trailer has finally arrived, and as expected, Idris Elba kicks ass.

Idris plays Roland Deschain, the mysterious "Gunslinger" who operates in the alternate universe, Mid-World, where he's responsible for protecting the Dark Tower that will save both Mid-World and Earth. Basically, if the Dark Tower falls, everyone, everywhere dies. So, no pressure or anything. Matthew McConaughey, who will reportedly not be driving a Lincoln in the film, will play The Man in Black, who is angry, evil and "worse than the devil."

"I do not kill with my gun. I kill with my heart," Idris The Gunslinger utters with very sweaty yet very sexy determination in the trailer before pulling off a gangster shot that defies gravity and puts every other bullet ever made to shame.

Suffice to say, if the film, directed by Nikolaj Arcel, lives up to the trailer's hype, Idris will have a hit franchise on his hands. Check it out above. The film hits theaters on August 4.
