Have You Checked Out the 23,000 Sq. Foot Animal Adoption Center in Longview Yet?
Animal lovers in East Texas have an amazing place to see and play with dogs and cats! Longview Animal Care & Adoption Center is a state-of-the-art city building that is 23,000 square feet and is funded through donations and the city of Longview. If Gregg County has a lonely animal, he or she will probably wind up here as it is an open admission facility.
I took a tour of the facility and I was blown away. I check out animal shelters in every city I live in and this one easily takes the dog biscuit.
The center has been open for less than a year after the Humane Society Shelter on Enterprise St. was closed down, but this place easily and comfortably houses more than double the capacity of the previous building.
The staff is great, too. It's always comforting to know there are people who really love animals taking care of them. This center has a full-time veterinarian and pet adoptions.
Adoption costs range between $50-$75 and the center does EVERYTHING from microchips, spay/neuter, vaccinations and the works.
Also! Tons of events. This place is incredibly interactive and the next event is pretty awesome. Tomorrow (Saturday, February 11) from Noon to 4 p.m. the Center will host its Valentine's Day Event. What that means for you, the animal lover:
- Free microchips
- 14% off adoptions
- Puppy kisses! (so much better because you don't have to take them to a dinner and movie after)
