July 13th is National French Fry Day!  French fries are a classic fast food treat and it is the perfect sidekick to a cheeseburger or hotdog... or as a whole meal. You can enjoy french fries in so many different ways - Cajun, sweet potato, waffle, shoe string, curly... Today is the day for you to celebrate this household favorite.

Where did French Fries actually come from?  That’s a good question and nobody really knows.  However, according to the National Day Calendar, the term “French” was introduced to the potatoes when the American soldiers arrived in Belgium during World War I.  It was also suggested that they called them “French” as it was the official language of the Belgian Army at that time.
