A letter written by a Texas day care directed to parents has struck a chord with over a million people in the last week. Since January 27, the post has been shared over 1.3 million times with 10,000+ comments - with about half agreeing and the other not (welcome to the Internet).

Juliana Farris Mazurkewicz, the parent who initially posted the letter to Facebook, was picking up her daughter from the day care in Hockley, Texas and then she saw the sign.

The first two lines of a full page made her stop:

You are picking up your child! GET OFF YOUR PHONE!!!!

I hate to say it, but chances are some of you are reading this from your phone. But the issue here is prioritizing when you decide to stare at a small screen in your hand. The day care thinks it's not the time when picking up your child.

The sign read:

We have seen children trying to hand their parents their work they completed and the parent is on the phone. We have heard a child say 'Mommy, mommy, mommy ...' and the parent is paying more attention to their phone than their own child. It is appalling.

While the mixed bag of 10,000 people commenting on the post varied between supporters saying 'yes get off your phone and hug your kids' and 'it's none of their businesses how they use their phones', I think we can all agree the day care staff (which has remained nameless) has the children's interests in mind.
