Get Excited About the Food Coming to East Texas State Fair
Half the reason why anyone goes to a State Fair is to get some fair food nibbles. There really aren't too many places on earth where you can get all of this amazingly unique and tasty food in one spot.
The East Texas State Fair kicks off this weekend where there will be no shortage of classics and unique creations to try. From the moment you walk onto the fairgrounds, you'll be surrounded by the vast array of mouthwatering aromas that will make over 250,000 visitors hungry at the 102nd annual East Texas State Fair.
East Texans have enjoyed this longstanding tradition of many great foods being served up at the East Texas State Fair, which has developed a reputation as “the place to be” for both lunch and dinner during late September.
From The Crazy Samosa, to the legendary Cowboy Mignon, and the Impressive XXL Super Quesadilla, you're going to find something so good you'll be counting down the days to eat it again a year later.
Then there's the fair food classics such as corn dogs, turkey legs, and funnel cakes, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. You’ll also see (and smell) a variety of Mexican, Italian, and even Kenyan dishes.
If you’re coming from out of state and want a true “Texas experience”, you’ll have to stop by 2016’s People Choice Award Winner “SmokinLikeYaLikeIt” to try their smoked meatloaf, chopped beef, or one of their other delicious Texas staples.
Another 2016 People’s Choice Winner, “Greenbriar Foods” will be back again with their famous cheeseburgers that have been a favorite of fair-goers for over 15 years.
If you’re looking for something sweet, you can’t miss Granny’s! This cute-as-a-button sugar shop has a variety of fried cheesecake, chocolate covered strawberries, fried Twinkies, and so much more!
From new food vendors this year like Polar Bear Ice Cream or The Weenie Shack to classic favorites like Harlon's BBQ or Trinity Lutheran Pies, you're sure to find some delicious to share with your family - or not because it's so good! Maybe we'll have to create a 'Get Your Own' sticker...
The 2017 East Texas State Fair will possibly be the best year for food! For a complete list of food vendors, visit etstatefair.com.
We’ll see you at the Tyler Fairgrounds between September 22 and October 1
