Frank Ocean, Chris Brown Brawl: Case Closed

The highly-publicized brawl between Frank Ocean and Chris Brown will finally have some closure.

Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced Monday (Feb. 4) that they will close the case soon without filing charges against either party, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Steve Whitmore, an L.A. Sheriff's rep, told the newspaper that investigators spoke with Ocean, who was allegedly attacked by Brown, and he declined to press charges. "The alleged victim does not want to move forward, so we are not going to move forward," he said.

Ocean accused Brown of assaulting him during an argument outside of an L.A. recording studio, which began over a parking space. The singer's producer, Michael Uzowuru, who witnessed the attack, said that "Chris was trying to beat the living s--- out of [him]."

Ocean's did post an open letter on his Tumblr page, stating that he wasn't going to pursue criminal charges against Brown. "I’m an artist and a modern person. I’ll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. Forgiveness, albeit difficult, is wisdom. peace, albeit trite, is what I want in my short life. Peace," he wrote.

Interestingly, Brown is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday (Feb. 5) for a progress hearing regarding his probation for the 2009 domestic violence incident involving Rihanna. We can't wait to hear what the judge thinks of the singer's altercation this past week.
