Terrence Glenn, a former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, passed away early Monday morning after a fatal car accident in Irving, officials reported.

According to Dallas News, Glenn died around 12:52 am at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Details of the accident were not immediately released, but NBC-DFW reports that the accident happened around Walnut Hill Lane and Texas 114. Glenn played for the Dallas Cowboys between 2003 and 2007 under coach Bill Parcells - his coach when he was drated by the New England Patriots back in 1996.

Many fans have criticized news stations for discussing his sordid, unlawful history after he was released by the Cowboys, saying it's too soon for grieving family and friends to bring up bad memories.
