Looking around East Texas, there is so much to do in one weekend!

With fall's arrival, not only does it bring cooler weather, it also brings out the festivals and activities! This weekend there's no shortage of fun activities for the entire family! Here are four great events going on in East Texas this weekend:

    Fire Ant Festival - Marshall

    The pesky any that causes so much trouble and pain will be the one celebrated in Marshall on Saturday! Taking place in downtown Marshall, there will be a FireAnt 5k, parade, street dance, long distance bike ride, activities for the kids, plenty of vendors and food too!

    Country Fest - Lindale

    This is just one of two different County Fest festivals happening this weekend! In downtown Lindale, they'll be celebrating the harvest season with carnival style games, car show, 5k, activities and of course food!

    Country Fest - Mt. Vernon

    This is a separate County Fest happening in northern East Texas! This festival has been happening every year since 1974 and offers up live entertainment, games, a car show, door prizes and food too!

    Edom Arts Festival - Edom

    Celebrating the wonderful world of art since 1972, small town Edom is turned in to one gigantic art world! Featuring local, state and national artists showing off their creations using many different mediums along with live music and some awesome tasting food too!

    Taco Throw Down - Tyler

    This is the first ever Taco Throw Down in downtown Tyler! Ten different taco vendors will be competing for the title of 'The Best Taco In Tyler'! Due to the possibilty of rain, the throwdown kicks off at noon at the Fair Plaza Parking garage located at the corner of West Elm and South Broadway.

    Tyler Scottish Festival + Highland Games

    It's like a trip back in time at the Scottish Festival in Tyler!  There will be challenging games to play and watch, special demonstrations, live music, falconers and much more.  Event takes place Saturday from 10a - 6p at Hwy. 69 and FM 2813.
