Fatal Accident Shuts Down Portion of I-20 in Gregg County

An overnight accident involving an 18 wheeler has shut down a section of Interstate 20 in Gregg County.

Department of Public Safety says the M L K Bridge overpass is closed to westbound traffic and motorist are being re-routed to the access road at Estes Parkway.

Authorities report the accident occurred around 4 a.m. when a tractor trailer apparently lost control and burst into flames upon impact.

Initial Reports indicate there is a fatality and one person seriously injured.
