Eric Garner's mother, Gwen Carr, was arrested along with 11 other protestors outside of Trump Towers last night (Jan. 31).

Carr and a group of about 30 people organized by Al Sharpton's National Action Network were there to protest President Donald Trump’s executive orders, cabinet picks and pick for Supreme Court justice.

Police arrested 11 protesters for allegedly blocking traffic along busy Fifth Avenue, including Carr. Carr's son, Eric Garner, became another face of the movement against police violence when he died in July 2014 after being placed in a chokehold by police. He repeatedly told the officer "I can't breathe" which became a phrase associated with the Black Lives Matter Movement and the fight against state sanctioned police violence against black people.
