Eric B. and Rakim are currently on their much-hyped 2018 tour, which began on April 8 in Boston. But during their New York stop at Irving Plaza, they brought out a surprise guest, former Sex & The City actress, Cynthia Nixon (who played Miranda Hobbs). Nixon is currently running for governor of New York.

The actress was obviously there to try to pull votes before the election, telling the crowd she "grew up here with my mom in a one-bedroom, five-flight walk up," echoing the every woman, regular person campaign she's launched since announcing her decision to run last month.

"I know that Eric B. is president, but I'm here 'cause I want to be governor of New York state," Nixon told the crowd.

Not sure if the legendary duo needed a break or what, but they let Nixon have at it for about four minutes—which in concert time is super long. She did earn some hearty cheers when she talked about legalizing marijuana and ending mass incarceration though.

As for Eric B. and Rakim's tour, they will make stops in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Atlanta, Houston and more before wrapping up on May 3 in San Francisco.
