East Texas Weekend Activities for January 29-31

It's going to be a beautiful weekend across East Texas, cobalt blue skies with warm sunshine, it'll definitely be an outdoors kind of weekend! There are a couple of great activities happening this weekend in addition to what you plan on doing outside.

Canton is hosting its' monthly First Monday Trade Days this weekend. This is a shoppers paradise because there is basically something for everyone. This open air 'flea market' offers high end fashion, home decor, automobile accessories, hairbows, pet necessities, tools - basically, you name it and you'll most likely be able to find it.  With all the shopping your bound to get hungry and there's some really good food vendors on site too. Strolling through the market is free, but there is a charge for parking. First Monday Trade Days is held in downtown Canton just south of I-20 on Hwy. 19 before Hwy. 64.

In Longview, the annual Boat RV & Camping show is underway at Maude Cobb Activity Center. This expo features the newest boats and personal watercraft along with R.V.'s and travel trailers. This event encompasses the entire convention center and even spills out into the parking lot for the RV show! There's a special kids hands-on activity area. It's not only boats and RV's, there's outfitters, guides man and more to check out. There is a cost associated with participating in this event at the Maude Cobb Activity Center in Longview.

Those are the two big events happening across East Texas this weekend, but if that's not for you, just get outdoors and enjoy this spring like weather at a local area park. At some point this weekend I'll have my helmet on riding the trails at Faulkner Park in Tyler and driving my remote controlled 4x4 truck across the parking lot and field!
