A Tyler man has been charged with using a lawn mower blade to slice his son's arm during an argument. Darron Campbell, 51, is being held without bond.

Tyler police say Campbell was working with his 26-year-old son Wednesday at the Borden Milk Plant at 805 West Front Street when the pair got into a physical fight.

Campbell was transported by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment.  Officers located the father and made an on-site arrest for Aggravated Assault Family Violence after obtaining the details of the incident.

 

Two Bodies Discovered in Longview Duplex Identified

A Mother and Daughter Found Dead Appear to be Victims of a Homicide.

The two bodies discovered Wednesday evening inside a Longview Duplex have been identified as 28-year-old Latoya Reese and her 11-year-old daughter.

Gregg County Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort said authorities are awaiting autopsy results for the exact cause of death.

Police responded to the 100 block of Jester Circle after they received a welfare check call.

 

Federal Drug Arrest in Harrison County

Twelve people have been indicted in an East Texas drug trafficking and firearms investigation. Federal prosecutors yesterday announced 10 arrests in the cocaine and methamphetamine case. U.S. Attorney John Bales says the case involves drug distribution in the Marshall area since 2009

The following defendants, all residing in Marshall, have been taken into custody:

Apolinar Carbajal Abelardo, aka, La Cartera, 40;

Santiago Carbajal Abelardo, aka, Chiquies, 25;

Jehovani Abelardo, 20;

Santos Acuna, 23;

Rigoberto Aguirre-Valle, aka, Rigo, 35;

Karin Cardenas, aka, Quequi, 20;

Joeli Higuera Fernandez, 28;

Melicio Nunez-Duque, 44;

Julia Flores Saucedo, aka, Julia Bernal, 32; and

Oscar Diaz-Mendoza, 34.

During Wednesdays’ arrests, law enforcement officers also seized 14 firearms, a pound and a half of methamphetamine, two ounces of powder cocaine, $8,600 in cash, and four vehicles.
