East Texas Burned By Being Left Off Top 10 Spots for Chicken Fried Steak

So I'm sitting here in the radio station studio already feeling pretty hungry for dinner & as I'm scrolling through the internet, my eyes catch a headline touting the best places for chicken fried steak in Texas! 

What Lone Star State resident doesn't love great chicken fried steak and/or chicken fried chicken?  I clicked through to the Wide Open Eats article, curious to know which restaurants around here made the list.

The story highlights joints from Galveston to Midland & just about everywhere in between, but NO representation from anywhere in East Texas!  How's that even possible?

Personally, I can't resist the chicken fried steak & eggs breakfast plate at The Diner on S. Broadway in Tyler - smothered in creamy white gravy of course!  They also offer it for lunch w/ 2 sides (mashed potatoes, with even more gravy, is a must as one IMO).

Other people in our office gave big chicken fried thumbs up to:  Coyote Sam's Bar & Grill,  Daniel Boone's Grill, El Charro On The Ridge, Cotton Patch Cafe, Texas Roadhouse, Jalapeno Tree, Aspen Creek Grill, & Cracker Barrel.

The closest spots ranked in the top 10 are:

Horseshoe Hill Cafe in Fort Worth

Ellen's Southern Kitchen and Bar in Dallas
