Artists these days are all about visual albums and short films. Drake is the most recent artist to join the trend, and has announced that his short film, Please Forgive Me featuring music from longtime collaborator Noah "40" Shebib, is coming out on September 30.

Earlier this month, Drake teased the project while on tour, and now it looks like it's actually happening, as he shared the release date and picture of the set on Instagram this morning (Aug. 26). Drake says the short film is by himself and Anthony Mandler of Black Hand Cinema. Mandler has directed several high-profile commercials featuring artists, including Taylor's Swift's Apple ad, Diddy's ad for Ciroc and Kendrick Lamar's Reebok ad. On the video front, Mandler, whose cinematography is especially notable since he's also a photographer, has handled visuals for everyone from Jay Z ("Holy Grail" and "We Run This Town"), Rihanna ("Diamonds" and "Disturbia"), The Weeknd ("Belong to the World") and a couple for Lana Del Rey including "National Anthem."

No word yet on what the plot for Please Forgive Me will be, but with Mandler's creative eye and Drake's comfortability in front of the camera, it'll likely be entertaining at the very least. Drake suggested earlier that it will feature music from Views and there were rumors that he shot videos for "Child's Play" in Houston and "One Dance" in South Africa, so maybe those visuals will show up in the short film.

Beyond his visual project, Drake is still on tour. Last night he pulled up in Atlanta, where he brought out regular collaborators, 2 Chainz and Gucci Mane. He and Gucci are scheduled to drop a mixtape together soon, called The 6'ers.
