If you're a military veteran, it's all about you this weekend, and rightfully so.  With Veteran's Day on Sunday, several East Texas restaurants are planning to offer freebies and deals to say thanks.

My dad is a US Navy veteran, and he's very quiet about his service and never expects any thanks or anything in return.  In fact, when I mention that he should go get military discounts because stores and restaurants want to thank him for his service he says things like, "Ah, no, let someone else have them."  But, Dad, they are for you!  You can't pay these forward, and you're entitled to them.  He's just so humble and never wants to be selfish.  Which is the exact thing that we love about veterans, and one of the reasons that we're celebrating them this Sunday, November 11.

If you're a military veteran, you could eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a different restaurant all weekend long and still not absorb every good deal that's out there.  But here are a few to pick and choose from.
