Hey parents, you might really like this app! Have you ever called or texted your kids and sat their waiting for their delayed response?

We've all lectured our kids or gave them "motivational speeches", but some still don't understand the importance of responding in a timely manner - especially if there's an emergency.  Well one father developed a phone app that will lock your child’s phone and make a noise until they respond to your text message.

From KSAT ABC 12, Nick Hebert created the phone app ReplyASAP to remedy the issues of his son not responding to his text messages. The app was created to ensure that kids, or whoever you send an important message to through the app, is seen and acknowledged.

Nick Hebert said this about the app in regards to his son:

There are times that I need to get a message to him and he has no way of knowing that the call or text he ignores/doesn't see is important or not, and I have no way of knowing if he has seen it.

Here’s how the app works according to the app website:

The message will appear on the phone over whatever the user is doing and will make a noise until they interact with it.  The kicker is, even if the phone is on silent it will make noise.

According to Hebert the app also has benefits for adults who need to get important messages to each other as well.
