The Cash Money empire has lost a family member. Rapper D-Boy Killa Stone, also known as Alvin Stone, died in prison recently.

There are few details surrounding his death but tweets from fellow New Orleans rappers Lil Wayne and Juvenile acknowledging D-Boy's passing suggest he died sometime near Jan. 29.

"RIP Killa Stone. Real ni55a forever! Another UPTOWN legend," Lil Wayne wrote on Monday.

"Just lost one of my best friends today Remember to tell your people you love while they still here Rest In peace Alvin Stone My big homie," tweeted Juvenile.

Originially part of Cash Money Degreez, he and rapper Lac formed D-Boyz so that they could have more control of their careers and started their own record label D-Boyz Entertainment. The duo released a few projects over the years including 'Ballin in My City' released in 2008, and 'The Life of a D-Boy' released in 2009.
