Chicago rapper RondoNumbaNine has been charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting of a cab driver. The Chicago Tribune reports that Rondo, born Clint Massey, was ordered held in lieu of $2 million bail on Sunday (March 9) at Cook County Bond Court in Chicago.

Massey, 17, who has gained buzz with the viral tracks 'Shooters' and 'Life of a Savage,' has been charged as one of two gunmen who shot 28-year-old Javan Boyd on Feb. 22, per court records. The shooting was allegedly retaliation for a previous altercation. Boyd, who was a driver for a Chicago livery service, was waiting for a passenger in his car when Massey and his partner shot him seven times.

Assistant State's Attorney Robert Mack says that a portion of the crime was captured on video and Massey's fingerprint was found on Boyd’s car.

Rondo's Twitter account has since sparked the #FreeRondoCampaign to show support for the rapper while he's incarcerated.
