Japan Stuns Team USA to Win Women’s World Cup 3-2

Team USA had already beaten Japan three times this year, but this was the game that mattered most.

The American women, seeking their first World Cup title since 1999, dominated during much of the final game on Sunday. They outshot Japan by a 29-12 margin and a 6-3 margin on goal and led twice. But in the end, after two 15-minute extra time periods, the teams were tied up at 2-2 – and it all came down to penalty kicks.

Weekend Box Office: ‘Harry Potter’ Is King in Record-Breaking Performance

In news that will surprise exactly no one, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2′ completely dominated this weekend’s box office. The final film in the Potter franchise banked a record-breaking $168.6 million opening weekend, with $92 million on Friday alone.

That number surpasses the previous record holder, ‘The Dark Knight,’ which opened to $158.4 million in 2008.

“I’m too old for cartwheels, but it’s close,” said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros.’ president for domestic distribution. “At the same time it’s bittersweet. It’s also the end of a great franchise, and we’ve watched these talented kids grow up.”

‘Today’ Show Finds Monster 2,000-Pound Crocodile [VIDEO]

Fans of Brutus, the monstrous saltwater crocodile, take heart: He’s real! Ever since a photograph of the 18-foot-long, 2000-lb. crocodile surfaced earlier this week, some have alleged that it may have been a hoax.

So, an intrepid crew from ‘Today’ embarked on a tour of the Adelaide River in Australia in search of the massive reptile. Lo and behold, the crew managed to film footage of the approximately 80-year-old animal as it happily munched on buffalo provided by their tour guide. And, disturbingly, Brutus appeared to be every bit as large as the stories said.

Want to Record in the Studio with Snoop Dogg? Here’s Your Chance

When you think of Snoop Dogg gardening, a very specific type of herb probably comes to mind — but as it turns out, the veteran rapper is actually an all-around green thumb enthusiast, and he’s donating some studio time to prove it.

Snoop is hosting an auction to help raise money for Urban Growing, an organization dedicated to expanding the growing urban gardening movement. The prize? The chance to sit in with Snoop during a studio session (and catch a ride to the studio in a “pimped-out car,” of course).
