One of Tyler's busiest intersections will be closed this Sunday.

At the intersection of Broadway and Loop 323, in the Southeast corner beside T.G.I. Fridays, crews will install a new traffic signal equipment from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., eastbound lanes of Loop 323 will be completely shut down. Also, the northbound lanes of Broadway will be closed as well. Police will be on hand to direct traffic but use an alternate route to avoid the area all together.

The most recent data from a City of Tyler report from 2011 shows that just over 88,000 vehicles pass through each day. That was 5 years ago. I would estimate it's probably 90,000 or more by now. But, again, that's just my guess.

So, needless to say, if that intersection is shut down, it won't be pretty. On the one hand, be thankful it's not a weekday, during the school year. Could you imagine that headache?

On the other, your Sunday morning church commute could be held up.

Looks like Old Bullard Road and Donnybrook will get some extra traffic Sunday morning.
