We're less than a week away now from the 3rd Annual Bikers Rule For School event! It's set for Saturday, July 23rd at Broadway Square Mall in Tyler! Title Sponsor is Lone Star Harley Davidson!

Three years ago we decided to help the nearly 8,000 kids in Smith County that start school each year without the proper supplies. P.A.T.H does a great job each year during the month of July collecting school supplies for the annual School Supply Train. We wanted to help the kids out and have fun at the same time, so we decided to team up with P.A.T.H. for a 100+ mile motorcycle ride through Smith County! More after the jump.

WHAT WE DO:

Each year the Longrider's do such a great job collecting toys with their annual Toy Run, so we decided to do something similar. Instead of toys, we collect school supplies. We start off at 9am with opening festivities at the Broadway Square Mall parking lot (closest to On The Border). There will be some guest speakers, music performance from Debt Nation, information (safety) briefing, etc. At 10am sharp we roll out from the Broadway Square Mall and hit the roads of Smith County.

We travel through every major city within the county that P.A.T. H. serves. This includes the cities of Tyler, Bullard, Whitehouse, Troup, Arp, Chapel Hill, Lindale, and Winona. All these school districts directly benefit from the donations of school supplies that we help collect.

The route this year will be a little different from years past. The route is longer (nearly 140 miles), but the biggest change is that there is only one stop along the route this year. We will only stop half-way through the route at Bethel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. There refreshments and snacks will be provided. We will end up the rout this year at the Sharon Shrine on Highway 31 east in Tyler. There is plenty of shade at this location and we will have a stage set up and will have a live performance from Borderline. There will also be give-a-ways, auctions, etc. After that, the party moves to Scooter's on highway 64 near the oil palace!

So how can you help? We have broke it down really easy for you 1 - 2 - 3!

NON-MOTORCYCLE RIDER:

So, if you are not a motorcycle rider how do you help? We ask that you bring your donation of school supplies to the Broadway Square Mall parking lot the morning of July 23rd as you see us off on the route! It's pretty awesome to see and hear 500 motorcycles tearing out of the mall parking lot! Bring the kids! You can also bring by school supplies to our mid-way stop at Bethel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. We should roll in at the location around 11:40am. And finally, you can bring school supplies to the Sharon Shrine location as we roll in around 2pm! The motorcycle riders are doing this for the kids. When we see you dropping off your donations of school supplies, it really helps us to realize that we are making a difference in a child's life! The non-motorcycle riders are a HUGE part of this event, so please come join us!

If you are a motorcycle rider and want to participate, all you need to do is donate $20 per bike and make a donation of school supplies. Registration can be done the morning of the event.
