Social media is still talking about Beyonce’s performance at Coachella or #Beychella and to celebrate she is also giving back to four historically black colleges and universities next year as part of a new scholarship program from BeyGOOD Initiative Scholarship Program.

Rolling Stone report, one student from each of the following HBCU’s Xavier University of Louisiana, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University, and Bethune-Cookman University will receive $25,000 for the 2018-2019 school year.

The scholarship program was initiated by Beyonce in April 2017 around the anniversary of her album Lemonade.  While the first year the scholarship was focused only on women, this scholarship will be open to men and women who qualify.

Director of Philanthropy and Corporate Relations at Parkwood Entertainment Ivy McGregor said:

We honor all institutions of higher learning for maintaining culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students.

In order to qualify for the Homecoming Scholars Award Program, applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA. The university will select the finalists and winner, and the individual will be announced during the summer.
