The Gospel and R&B community is deeply saddened by the loss of 33 year old Dontavies Boatwright who passed away yesterday in his Florida home of what authorities are calling an probable heart attack. Boatwright was one of the most memorable finalists of season 2 of the hit BET television show, 'Sunday Best'. He was also a radio announcer in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida.

Besides being an outstanding vocalist, Dontavies was also know as being a genuinely "nice" person.

At this time the official cause of death has not been released, however authorities are saying that it appears as if Boatwright suffered a massive heart attack in his home.

In September, Boatwright was signed to Parriscope Entertainment and released his first singles, 'Glory to Glory' and 'Blessed'.

An official statement regarding Boatwright's death has been released via his record label:

"It is with profound sadness that we officially report that PEInc Gospel artist DONTAVIES BOATWRIGHT has passed away. Details on services are forthcoming.We ask everyone to please keep us and the family of Dontavies Boatwright in your thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time."
