Becky Hammon is Hired as a Spurs Assistant

In a historic move, the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs hired former WNBA player Becky Hammon as the first OFFICIAL female hire as a coach in NBA history.

She will be on the bench as apart of Greg Poppovich's staff.

Hammon spent 15 seasons in the WNBA, ending her career with the San Antonio Stars and was recently voted as one of the most prolific players in WNBA history in 2011.
