After voicing sheer unhappiness with her record label, Azealia Banks is finally getting her wish.

The rapper is parting ways with Universal Music, according to a series of tweets she released today (July 10). "I'm about to get out of my deal. That's the big surprise," she wrote on Twitter.

If you remember, Banks went on a Twitter tirade at the top of 2014, writing that the Universal decision makers didn't get her or her music. "Universal need to just hand me over to another label who knows what to do with me," she wrote. "I'm tired of having to consult a group of old white guys about my black girl craft. They don't even know what they're listening for or to."

But today's tweets were obviously way more upbeat, as the 'Broke With Expensive Taste' creator seemed overjoyed that she'll be independent again. "I's is free," she tweeted. "I'm feeling like Miss Celie at the end of Color Purple.....I'm going to have a fresh start. I'm so excited....Now I get to be the cool indie chick I imagined I would be when I was 14."

There hasn't been an official word or press statement from Universal Music as of yet.
