A$AP Rocky is learning that fame can be bittersweet after being arrested in New York Thursday night (July 19) for assaulting a pair of photographers. According to TMZ, the Harlemite was embroiled in “a verbal dispute with someone in downtown Manhattan” when two male onlookers started taking photos of the incident.

Apparently, Rocky and his friend didn’t like getting their picture taken on the street and pummeled the two amateur photographers. According to TMZ’s sources, the pair suffered cuts and bruises — with one requiring a hospital visit.

A$AP Rocky is expected to be charge with attempted robbery, which, we’re guessing, stems from him trying to snatch the guys’ cameras or smartphones they were using during the fracas. Photos of Rocky’s arrest was posted on Karen Civil‘s blog. It appears that Rocky and an unidentified shirtless man were placed in handcuffs as police sort out what happened that night.

This isn’t the first time Rocky and his crew have been involved in fisticuffs. A$AP Rocky and his posse, A$AP Mob, are being sued by a stagehand who claims the group “beat the hell out of him on stage” as he tried to remove sound equipment during the FADER Fort party at South by Southwest last year. The claimant Anthony Montalbano is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for his injuries he suffered during the attack.

Hopefully, Rocky’s latest arrest doesn’t hold him up from performing on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ tonight (July 20) on NBC.

A$AP Rocky’s debut album, ‘Long.Live.A$AP’ is tentatively due in stores on Sept. 11.
