Congratulations once again to the 'Queen of Soul', Aretha Franklin! She was honored from Princeton University with an honorary doctorate degree of music. Franklin was 1 of 6 recipients of the prestigious honor, and now the 'Respect' singer can demand what she's most famously noted for, R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Aretha never went to college, but with her legendary influence in music for several decades - with many trying to reach her levels of success, this honor is much deserved. Princeton's school trustee, Steve Oxman stated:

"With her singular 'Amazing Grace,' she continues to traverse musical bridges over trouble water, and by remedying us to think, do right and call on her, the Queen of Soul will forever command the world's R-E-S-P-E-C-T."

Ms. Franklin is no stranger to Ivy league honorary awards PLUS several from other colleges. In 2006 and 2010, the queen received top honors from from Berklee College of Music, and Yale University.

We are so proud of Aretha Franklin and r-e-s-p-e-c-t her success!
